“Start-Up Uses Portal Game as Recruiting Tool”, acrylic gouache & ink on paper
I haven’t played any of the Portal games, but I am very familiar with game mods (Re: my current obsession with Left 4 Dead 2 custom maps). I thought that this article would be really fun to illustrate, especially using the same color palette as the beloved companion cube.

This week I had the pleasure of working on a short video project - a good excuse to set up the tripod and bust out the DSLR.

“A Collection: Green Thumb”, acrylic gouache on paper
I’m starting a new series of small paintings of different collections and here is the first! Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about finding low-maintenance plants to bring fresh air and life into the studio.
A Collection is a year-long series of small gridded paintings updated bimonthly. If you’d like to see the progress so far, take a look.

I’ve been playing a lot of Left 4 Dead 2 …

OH HELLO, 2013
We’re three days into the New Year and it’s feeling fabulous. Like most people, I get suckered into annual resolutions and this year feels particularly ambitious. I have so much to be thankful for in 2012 and so many milestones to count that I am truly excited for the upcoming 356 (well, now 353) days.
Here are a few projects you can expect that will be regularly updated, or else feel free to slap me silly.
Studio Sundays
I’ve already introduced this one but essentially it’s a photographic snapshot of what’s going on in the studio each week: from half-finished paintings, blotchy experimental inks, and crafty bits and pieces.
Project Wednesdays
It may not have much of a ring to it but Project Wednesdays is the day of the week I will be alternating between publishing two larger endeavors: The Editorial Challenge and The Collections Project. More about these with the weeks come, dun, dun.
Doodle Fridays
TGIF! This day is all about unwinding and creating something loose and fun. Anything goes!
Keeping 2013 busy!

INTRODUCING STUDIO SUNDAY (sunday …! sunday… !)
Kicking off in 2013, once a week on Sunday from now on I’ll be sharing a snapshot of my studio. I just recently moved into a new space and am super excited to share all the fun goodies that spark from this corner of the land.
Here’s a peak of what’s on the easel today: the starting stages of my “Hold Your Ground” mini comic.
