Thank you to the Wornettes for asking me to contribute a few spot illustrations to their latest Issue #16! Here are 9 different types of sleeves created for their “Puffs & Cuffs” Glossary section (the Lantern, Kimono, Pagodas, Bishop, Leg of Mutton, Dolman, Raglan, Amadis, and Gigot).

I am incredibly excited to share with everyone one of my illustrations as an animation! Yes, Waldek has worked his magic and made my “Crowdfunding” piece move with floating coins and blinking eyes.

I have an illustration in the current Summer 2013 issue of Precedent Magazine for an article critiquing the Justice on Target program. Its attempt to fix long trial times actually has the opposite affect.

ZINE UPDATE

“Coping with Paradise” is officially sold out of its first print run! Hooray, thank you everyone who purchased a copy! I’ll be making the second print run late spring: if you’d like to be updated when it’s released, feel free to sign up to the mailing list.

In other news, I only have 10 copies of Indigestion Issue #1 and once they’re gone, it will be out of print. Yes, unfortunately I won’t be reprinting this issue so if you’ve grab a copy, you’ve snagged one out of 50 comics printed.

MINI STUDIO TOUR

Looking back at all the Studio Sundays I’ve done, I realized that I have completely forgotten to give an introductory tour! Well, here it is: my modest corner in my live/work home. Modern condos have a tendency to look really sterile so I’ve been slowly adding touches to make my environment cozy.

Shelf of Coveted Treasures: I reserve this shelf for amazing books I’ve obtained over the years to serve as inspiration and great cover art and design really perks up any room. Currently I have Jillian Tamaki’s embroidered Penguin covers that I am still in love with.

Hanging Zines: I have a curated collection of zines (and sometimes small prints) hanging below my shelf from all the fairs I’ve attended. Zines are something I hold really dear to me, especially from my friends. Instead of shoving them all in a box, I try to keep my favorites out to be admired.

Storage: When I can, I try to store everything flat and easy to find otherwise things get messy very fast. I don’t have space for a proper flat file so I use a shallow shelf. Restricting myself to limited storage space helps me to resist impulsively buying cool/gimmicky supplies and simply sticking with the bare basics.

There it is! Next week I’ll work on making more work in progress shots, promise.
